Table valued function that takes an interval and returns that interval grouped into time units with individual start and stop dates.

Parameters:

@TimeUnit mandatory varchar(10)
The time unit to group the interval by.

@IntervalStart mandatory datetime
Start of the interval
@IntervalStop mandatory datetime
End of interval
@KeepEntireUnits mandatory bit
Set to 1 if the interval should be extended beyond the start and stop date if necessary as to not truncate any time units in the interval.
@ShortDescriptions mandatory bit
Set to 1 to use shorter descriptions of the time units when available.
@LanguageId optional int
The language used for month names. Use DEFAULT to use the system default language. System default language.

Repeat mode: repeated exactly once
Row count: zero or more rows

Columns:

IntervalId mandatory int
Identity column, can be used to sort the intervals.
Description mandatory string
Time unit description. An asterisk denotes an truncated interval.
IntervalStart mandatory datetime
Time unit start.
IntervalStop mandatory datetime
Time unit stop.
